Cassius is a Kichler chandelier in Champagne Bronze — a light, champagne-toned bronze. Branching arms spread from a vertical rod and end in four faceted shades of shiny opal glass, the whole resembling a molecule model or a constellation. The manufacturer intends the four-light version for a kitchen island. It is distributed by Elstead Lighting.
Span and hanging height
The fitting is 100.3 cm wide but only 13.3 cm deep — the arms lie in one plane, so the composition is long and flat, like an elongated island or table. The body itself is 50.2 cm high, and the overall height with rod is set at installation between 60.2 and 142.2 cm using the supplied rods (2 × 15.2 cm and 2 × 30.5 cm). The arms can be rotated and arranged during installation. Weight: 3.88 kg.
The manufacturer also allows it to be mounted close to the ceiling as a semi-flush light — the option for lower rooms.
Lamps included
The fitting has four G9 lampholders, and four 3 W G9 LED lamps of 300 lm each are included — 1200 lm in total. 3000 K is a warm white. The lamps can later be swapped for other G9 lamps. The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps: dimming needs dimmable G9 lamps and a dimmer switch.
It is Class I and requires an earth conductor.
Style and use
Champagne bronze steel and milky geometric shades make a modern, sculptural form — the manufacturer calls it a celestial-inspired focal point. The catalogue assigns it to kitchens, over islands and tables, dining rooms and living rooms.
