COMODORO is a gypsum wall light shaped as a narrow white block. Five horizontal slots with small hoods cross the front face and the light leaves through them; elsewhere the body is closed. The surface is matt, with no sheen.

How big it is and how far it stands off the wall

The fitting measures 24.5 cm high and 9.5 cm wide and projects 9 cm from the wall. Compare those 9 cm with the width of the passage: in a narrow hallway a fitting mounted at eye level sits at shoulder line.

The proportions are strongly vertical - the body is more than two and a half times taller than it is wide - so a pair either side of a mirror or a bed reads as vertical accents rather than as a band of light.

Which bulb has to be bought

There is one E14 lampholder and the maker rates it at 5 W at most. No bulb is supplied and that ceiling must not be exceeded: an ordinary 40 W incandescent candle bulb does not belong in this fitting, so the lamp has to be an LED one within 5 W.

You choose the colour of the light yourself. The maker publishes neither a lumen figure nor a colour temperature, because both depend on the bulb fitted; 2700-3000 K, warm light with a yellowish cast, is the usual pick for a bedroom or a hallway.

How it lights and where it belongs

The five slots break the light into horizontal bands leaving the front face, and at 5 W this is decorative lighting: it gives the wall a pattern but replaces neither a ceiling light nor a reading lamp.

The body is gypsum, a mineral and matt material that does not reflect light the way metal or glass does, so the fitting reads as part of the wall. It is intended for dry interiors only and suits neither a shower zone nor an outdoor wall.
