CTLS SPOT LED 25W is a track spotlight with a black cylindrical head mounted on a short stem below the track adapter. The body is made of lacquered aluminium and plastic, and the fitting belongs to the CTLS (Commercial Track Light System) range from Nowodvorski. Symbol 12300 is the black version at 25 W and 3000 K.
Size and mounting
The head is 7 cm in diameter and 14 cm long, a size to compare with the distance to the wall or shelving it is meant to light. The fitting is designed for CTLS system tracks and is fixed into the track with its adapter. It weighs 0.58 kg, and the box contains the fitting and the installation instructions.
Light
The light source is an integrated 25 W LED module giving 2200 lm, roughly as much as three old 60 W bulbs. 3000 K is warm white, slightly cooler than the yellowish 2700 K and warmer than a neutral 4000 K. The manufacturer lists beam angles of 24°, 36° and 60° for this fitting: a narrow beam picks out a single object on a shelf or a picture, while a wide one lights a larger stretch of wall.
The module is permanently built in and included, so there are no bulbs to buy, but it also cannot be replaced like an ordinary lamp. The manufacturer states a lifetime of 50,000 hours, which at eight hours a day is more than 17 years of use. The fitting runs on ~220–230 V and is intended for indoor use only.
Where it fits
The plain cylindrical form without ornament is a modern style. The spotlight is intended for the living room and for shops, where one track can direct light onto several zones. The CTLS SPOT LED series also includes 15 W and 30 W versions, white versions and 4000 K versions.
