Elstead Nico large pendant light, 1×E27, 48.9 cm, Burnished Brass

The large Nico pendant has an open steel frame finished in Burnished Brass. Slender metal lines surround one exposed bulb, widening towards the lower part of the cage before curving in to meet at a pointed base. The visible lampholder, suspension chain and round ceiling canopy share its brass-coloured appearance.

Allow for the body as well as the suspension

The fitting itself measures 81.3 cm high and 48.9 cm in diameter. Shortening the suspension does not reduce that body height. Before choosing it for a dining table, living room or entrance, compare the dimensions with the space available rather than judging the pendant from its narrow metal strips alone.

The manufacturer specifies an overall drop of 90.8–247.4 cm and a chain length of 152.4 cm. Plan around the lowest point of the cage, not just the position of the bulb. Over a circulation route, the clearance beneath that point matters; above a table, consider the sightline between seated people too. This is a tall pendant rather than a close-to-ceiling fitting, even when installed at its minimum drop.

Choose the visible E27 light source separately

Nico takes one E27 bulb rated at no more than 60 W. The bulb is not included, and there is no integrated LED module. Brightness, colour temperature and bulb shape depend on the source you select, so the brass finish should not be read as a promise of warm-coloured light.

There is no fabric shade or opal cover hiding the bulb within the open cage. Its shape is therefore part of the composition when the fitting is switched off as well as on. Elstead confirms compatibility with dimmable lamps. If dimming is required, choose a dimmable bulb and a control compatible with that bulb; the fitting alone does not determine the available dimming range.

A geometric frame for an interior setting

The exposed lamp and metal cage support industrial and loft interiors, while the symmetrical outline can also work with modern furnishings. It suits a scheme that calls for visible lines rather than the solid surface of a closed shade.
