Endon Waldorf 61198 table lamp – chrome, ivory shade, 47 cm

The Endon Waldorf 61198 is a table lamp with a high-shine chrome-plated glass base and a cylindrical ivory fabric shade. Its rounded body narrows towards the neck, contrasting with the straight sides of the shade above. This is the chrome version of Waldorf, rather than the copper-finished alternative in the same family.

Allow room for the full shade

The lamp stands 47 cm tall, with a shade measuring 32 cm across and 20 cm high. When choosing a bedside cabinet, side table or chest of drawers, compare the usable surface with the shade diameter, not just the narrower base. The shade extends beyond the body, so the footprint of the glass alone does not describe the space needed. Check overhead clearance too if you intend to place it beneath a shelf. Waldorf is designed to sit on furniture, not to serve as a tall floor lamp.

It can provide supplementary lighting in a living room, bedroom or hotel room. The traditional shaded silhouette, rounded reflective base and light-coloured fabric suit modern-classic and glamour arrangements. Objects nearby are reflected in the chrome finish, making the surrounding tabletop part of its visible appearance.

Choose the bulb separately

A single E27 holder takes a replaceable bulb, which is not supplied. The current manufacturer card specifies a 10 W LED lamp. Brightness and colour temperature therefore depend on the bulb you select; compare the light output and colour temperature on the separately purchased bulb. The fabric shade surrounds the bulb at the sides and is open at the top.

Positioning and care

The white flex is 1.8 m long and includes an inline on/off switch. Check the distance to the socket and access to the switch before settling on a position. The instructions require a stable, flat surface and exclude bathroom use. Clean with a dry cloth only, without liquid or abrasive cleaners. Unplug the lamp and let the bulb cool completely before changing it.
