Fluktus 28 is a Nordlux outdoor wall light with an unusual louvred construction. The rectangular body, 28.6 cm wide, is formed by a white milky diffuser overlaid with horizontal black metal slats. The slats do not sit flush against the shade – they stand off it and project past the outline, so seen from the side the fitting reads as a set of parallel planes rather than a closed box.
How it lights
That arrangement acts directly on the light. Output escapes through the gaps between the slats, so a distinctive horizontally banded pattern appears on the wall, while the fitting itself does not dazzle anyone looking straight at it – the slats work as a glare shield. Two E27 sockets sit inside, which fills the whole length of the diffuser evenly, without the brighter centre spot a single source would produce.
Lamps
Bulbs are not supplied – you choose them yourself, and the manufacturer states a maximum of 15 W. The lamps are replaceable, so colour temperature can be changed at any time: a warmer 2700 K underlines the domestic character of an entrance, while 3000–4000 K gives more practical light at a gate or steps. The fitting is dimmable, but only with a lamp marked as dimmable – it contains no dimmer of its own.
Durability and installation
An IP44 rating protects the interior from solid objects above 1 mm and from splashing water from any direction – the right level for building walls, façades, fences and balconies. The luminaire is protection class I, so installation requires an earth conductor and is best left to an electrician. The construction is metal and plastic in black, measuring 28.6 × 10 × 12 cm at 1.18 kg, so it does not overload lightweight walls.
Where to mount it
The wide, low body looks best horizontal: above an entrance door, along a façade, on a fence post, or on a balcony or terrace wall. Several units at equal spacing create a rhythm along a long wall – the banded light pattern then repeats at regular intervals, which works better than one strong fitting in the middle.
