Graham Duo-Mount Pendant / Semi-Flush - 3 Light E14 - Polished Nickel Elstead

Graham is a Hinkley light, distributed by Elstead Lighting, that can hang on rods as a pendant or be mounted without them as a semi-flush ceiling light. A welded frame in polished nickel is wrapped in two round off-white shades of faux-parchment polycotton — a larger one on top and a smaller one below. The underside is finished, so looking up you do not see bare construction.

Size and two ways to mount it

The larger shade is 40.6 cm across, a size that stays in proportion over a table about 80–90 cm wide. Mounted as a semi-flush the light is 35.9 cm high, which matters in rooms with lower ceilings. As a pendant, on the rods supplied (2 × 15.2 cm and 2 × 30.5 cm), the overall height reaches 129.9 cm.

The height is set during installation by choosing the rods. Over a table the bottom of the shade usually sits 70–80 cm above the top, so work that distance out from your ceiling height before installation. The light weighs 2.7 kg, and the ceiling pan has the same polished-nickel finish.

Light sources

There are three E14 sockets, each for a bulb of up to 40 W; the bulbs are not included. The light passes through two fabric shades that diffuse it. The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs — to dim it you need a dimmer and bulbs sold as dimmable.

It is Class I, so it has to be connected to the protective earth conductor, and it is for indoor use.

Style and variants

The manufacturer describes Graham as a transitional design: classic shades combined with a plain, unornamented metal frame, with polished nickel giving it a silvery shine. The Graham family comes in two sizes, and this three-light model is also available in black and in lacquered brass.
