Green Designers Paprotka GD 636 artificial green wall mat, 50 × 50 cm

Green Designers Paprotka GD 636 is a 50 × 50 cm artificial plant mat for decorative greenery indoors. Its composition combines three leaf types: spreading fern forms, narrow aloe-like leaves and smaller foliage in the background. The plants are attached to flexible mesh rather than a rigid board.

Plan the area and the projection

Each module has a 50 cm side. Repeating the same pattern allows a larger composition across a wall, ceiling or pillar. The manufacturer recommends multiplying the measured area in square metres by 4 and rounding up to determine the number of mats. Allow extra for cutting: area alone does not account for the arrangement of pieces around corners and openings.

The foliage is 7–25 cm deep, while the mesh backing is approximately 4 mm thick. Compare both measurements with the available space, particularly beside furniture and passageways. Where an edge remains exposed, the manufacturer suggests a recess or finishing strip to conceal the mesh. The projecting plants therefore need more clearance than the thin backing alone.

Cutting and fixing the mesh

The backing can be trimmed with scissors, including angled cuts or an opening around a socket. Fixing depends on the substrate: the mat instructions specify a stapler for a sufficiently soft surface, wall plugs for a hard wall, or a suitable supporting board. A black background is recommended to reduce visible gaps between leaves. The separate glue-mounting instructions for another panel group should not be assumed to apply to this mat.

Decorative foliage rather than a living garden

Paprotka needs no watering or pruning of new growth. It is intended for home and professional interiors, with irregular foliage that suits botanical decorating schemes and boho styling. The manufacturer confirms moisture resistance but does not specify UV resistance for GD 636. Green shades may vary between production batches, an important consideration when combining mats or extending an existing installation later.
