JAKKO is a dining table with a 200 × 100 cm top and strongly rounded corners, standing on two solid pedestal legs. The sides of the pedestals are wavy — rounded vertical flutes run their full height. The finish is dark walnut on wood veneer.

How many people the top seats

The top is 200 cm long and 100 cm wide. Counting the usual 60 cm of edge per adult, three places fit along each long side and one at each 100 cm end — eight places without adding anything.

The pedestals are set inwards: each is 54 cm across the width of the top, so about 23 cm of clear space is left at both long edges. Chairs can therefore go anywhere along the sides and at the ends — there are no corner legs for knees to catch on.

Height and the clearance underneath

The table stands 75.5 cm high and the top itself is 4.8 cm thick, leaving 70.2 cm of clearance beneath it. That is the figure to compare with the armrests of your own chairs: a dining chair whose arms sit higher than 70 cm will not go under the top and will stay pushed out.

Each pedestal takes up 41 cm along the length of the top and 54 cm across it. The table weighs 88 kg — a weight to consider before carrying it up stairs and before sliding it across a floor that scratches.

What it is made of, and how to look after it

The construction is MDF board covered with wood veneer in a dark walnut finish — it is not solid timber. The veneer gives the surface its grain but remains a thin layer on the board, which is why the top is sensitive to moisture and to heat.

The maker requires the use of coasters or placemats and advises against putting wet or hot dishes directly on the top. That is a condition of keeping the surface as it is, not general advice — with this finish the mark left by a hot pan is permanent.
