Jupiter OPAL 9 floor lamp, patinated brass finish, E27, 155 cm

Jupiter OPAL 9 is a floor lamp with a white domed glass shade suspended from a curved arm. Its steel construction has a patinated brass finish, with a darker rim around the shade. A slender stem, stepped circular base and decorative detail beside the arm give it a distinctly traditional outline.

Allow room for the offset shade

The fitting measures 155 cm high, 35 cm wide and 48 cm deep. When choosing its position, consider the whole outline rather than just the base. The shade projects to one side of the upright stem, so compare the overall depth with the distance from the wall and the position of your armchair or sofa.

Placed beside seating in a living room, bedroom or study, this freestanding design adds a light point without taking up the surface of a side table. The fitting itself weighs 10.4 kg, which is worth considering if you expect to move it frequently. Keep both the base and projecting upper section clear of walking routes.

Choose one replaceable E27 bulb

OPAL has a single E27 socket for a light source rated at no more than 15 W. A bulb is not included and must be purchased separately. This is not a fixed LED module: the colour temperature and light output depend on the compatible bulb you select, within that power limit.

The shade is open underneath, leaving part of the bulb visible. Its appearance therefore matters as well as its specifications. For a reading position, choose output to suit the distance from the book; a 15 W maximum does not specify a particular level of brightness.

A brass finish, not a solid brass frame

The manufacturer specifies steel and glass as the materials. Patinated brass describes the surface finish rather than the composition of the whole frame. The white dome and darker metal edges suit traditional, retro and vintage interiors. Designed for indoor use, OPAL can complement general room lighting with a separate light point beside a seat.
