Nowodvorski PETIT B 8338 floor lamp shade, black with gold interior, 32 cm

Nowodvorski PETIT B 8338 is a shade for a floor lamp, not a finished luminaire. The body is a truncated cone, black on the outside, with a gold-coloured lining visible at the lower opening. In the official PETIT assembly manual, code 8338 sits in the PETIT B shade group with 8336 and 8342.

The two measurements that are actually labelled

The dimension drawing in the gallery marks the upper opening as 18.5 cm and the height as 32 cm. The wider lower opening has no separate figure on that drawing. The cone narrows toward the top. Compare those two stated measurements with the clearance around the frame you already have, for example beside a sofa. Do not read 18.5 cm as the width of the lower rim.

What has to be there before this shade is useful

The graphical instruction shows the shade lowered onto a floor-lamp frame. The light source is fitted to the luminaire, not to the shade. The same sheet prints PETIT codes 8346 and 8345 beside the floor-lamp symbol. Article 8338 is a component for selected models in that series.

The tall black stand with a round base and a supply cord in the contextual photo is not included. The manual gives no lamp-holder designation and does not say a bulb is packed with the shade. Match the frame of your existing PETIT lamp to that assembly sequence before you order.

Where it belongs, and where it does not

An unornamented cone, without historic detailing, reads as modern and minimalist. The gold interior is the visible finish of the opening the light leaves through, not a second body. This shade is for a floor lamp in a living room.

The family manual states that humid rooms and outdoor positions need protection higher than IP20. This sheet does not give 8338 its own IP rating, so it is not a bathroom or outdoor shade.

Do not alter the product, fasten anything to it, or cover it. It is not a toy. Clean the luminaire only after it has been switched off and has cooled, with a damp cloth, and keep moisture out of the electrical connections. That care applies once the shade is fitted to a powered lamp. The shade itself is not something you connect directly to the mains.
