Louvre is a wall light shaped as a rectangular steel cage, with two bulbs visible through clear glass slats set at an angle like the louvres of a blind. The frame carries a Painted Gunmetal finish – a painted, brushed graphite with lighter, silvery worn edges.
How big it is and where to mount it
The fitting is 28.8 cm high and 24.7 cm wide, and projects 14.9 cm from the wall. Compare those figures with the free wall beside a door, mirror or bed – in a narrow hallway, check that 15 cm of projection will not be in the way.
The wall light weighs 3.15 kg, so it is fixed into solid masonry or a supporting frame rather than plasterboard alone. It is protection class I, which means it must be connected to the earth conductor.
What light it gives
Inside are two E27 lampholders for bulbs of up to 60 W each. Bulbs are not included. The manufacturer recommends decorative Edison-style filament bulbs – the cage is open, so the bulbs are part of the look, and an amber glass bulb with a visible filament gives a warm, subdued glow.
The fitting has no built-in dimmer but works with dimmable bulbs: dimming needs a dimmer switch in the wiring and bulbs marked as dimmable.
Construction and series
The frame is steel and the slats are clear glass. The hard, angular build and the exposed lampholders give the light an industrial character, softened slightly by the glass louvres. It is intended for indoor use.
The Louvre series also includes one-, four- and six-light pendants and a four-light flush ceiling light in the same finish, so the wall light can be paired with a ceiling fitting of the same design.
