LUMINES MONO 10-1646-20 is a black lacquered aluminium profile for recessed installation in plasterboard construction. This 2.02 m version has solid mounting flanges without perforations. It is a component for linear lighting, not a complete lamp with a predetermined wattage or colour temperature.
Plan the profile into the plasterboard
MONO is installed between two plasterboard sheets, allowing a line of light to become part of the wall surface rather than adding a projecting wall lamp. The space for it therefore needs to be considered as part of the construction layout. Plan its position alongside cable routing and access to the power-supply components before finishing the surrounding surface.
The cross-section is 41.7 mm wide and 14.8 mm high. Compare both measurements with the proposed gap and board arrangement: the length of the section alone does not describe the space required for installation. This solid-flange variant should not be confused with newer MONO profiles that have perforated mounting flanges.
Choose the strip and cover for the required light
The channel accommodates an LED strip up to 12 mm wide. Your choice of strip determines the colour temperature, brightness and power requirements of the assembled installation. Black refers to the finish of the aluminium, not the colour of the emitted light.
Compatible components include BASIC covers and MONO end caps. The manufacturer also lists straight connectors, 90° and 120° corner connectors and transverse angle connectors. Select these according to the intended route of the light line; they are separate system components rather than alternative names for the profile. An installation requires a suitable strip, appropriate power supply and compatible accessories.
Linear lighting within the room design
MONO is intended for residential architecture and public buildings. It can provide supplementary linear lighting in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and dining rooms, as well as hallways and corridors. Its simple geometry suits modern and minimalist interiors. The finished lighting effect depends on the selected strip, cover and arrangement of the sections.
