Mantra DESIGUAL table lamp 7612

Mantra DESIGUAL 7612 is a small table lamp with a white glass sphere enclosed by an open black iron frame. Designed by José Ignacio Ballester, it contrasts a rounded shade with the straight edges of a three-dimensional structure. It takes a single replaceable bulb rather than using an integrated LED module.

Allow room for the glass as well as the frame

The lamp is 19 cm tall. Mantra specifies a frame width and depth of 14 cm, while the technical drawing gives the spherical shade a diameter of 15 cm. The glass therefore projects slightly beyond the frame. When deciding where to place it, allow for that projection rather than measuring only the square metal structure.

Its low form can be considered for a living-room side table, bedside cabinet or hallway console. It can also provide decorative supplementary lighting on furniture in a study or office. Compare the measurements with the available surface and check the cable route to a socket before ordering.

Choose the bulb separately

The E27 holder takes one LED bulb rated at no more than 20 W. A bulb is not supplied. Light colour and luminous flux consequently depend on the bulb you select; the warm appearance of a photograph does not establish a fixed colour temperature for this fitting. Consider the bulb specification when coordinating the lamp with other lighting in the room.

The assembly instructions show a 60 mm opening in the shade and removal of the upper frame section when fitting the glass and bulb. Choose a bulb that can pass through this opening and follow the manufacturer's illustrated assembly sequence. This model does not offer dimming.

Cable, control and geometric character

The black cable is 1.5 m long and has an ON/OFF switch. The lamp is intended for indoor use; a staged setting is not evidence of suitability for a terrace. Its open frame keeps the glass sphere visible, emphasizing the contrast between curved glass and straight metal edges. This is a concrete match for modern and minimalist interiors rather than a claim that the lamp suits every decorative style.
