Mantra NISEKO II 8637 LED ceiling light white Ø90 cm 75 W CCT with remote

NISEKO II 8637 is a round Mantra LED ceiling light, 90 cm across and only 9.5 cm deep, finished in white RAL 9010. The body combines aluminium and iron, and the light leaves through an acrylic diffuser on the underside. A radio remote for changing colour temperature and brightness comes in the box.

Size and installation

The body itself is 6.5 cm thick, and with its mounting plate the light sits 9.5 cm proud of the ceiling. Under a low ceiling it therefore takes none of the headroom a pendant would, while the 90 cm diameter lets a single fitting light a large room.

The light weighs 8.4 kg net. It hangs on a cross bracket spanning 755 × 755 mm that is screwed to the ceiling at four points, so the ceiling at that spot has to carry that weight. It is a protection class I fitting, so the ceiling box needs an earth conductor.

How much light, and what kind

The integrated LED module draws 75 W and the fitting delivers 5000 lm, enough light for one fitting to serve as the general lighting of a large room. The beam angle is about 143°, so the light spreads widely across the room instead of pooling under the fitting. CRI 80 is the usual colour rendering for home lighting.

The remote sets the colour from warm 2700 K through neutral 4000 K to cool 5000 K, and sets the brightness too. The same light can give dimmed warm light in the evening and bright neutral light for work. The remote works by radio on 2.4 GHz, so there is no need to point it at the fitting.

There is no lamp to buy. Mantra gives an LED life of 30,000 h and 30,000 switching cycles, and the LED module and driver can be replaced by a service technician.

Which interiors it suits

A smooth, undecorated ring in plain white places NISEKO II in the modern and minimalist style. It suits a living room, a dining room and an office, wherever one fitting has to light the whole room.
