The Kichler Marant wall light in polished chrome has a mirror-bright steel body: a rectangular back plate with rounded corners and an arched arm holding a cup of clear, rippled water glass. The chrome reflects its surroundings just like a bathroom tap in the same finish. The fitting is distributed by Elstead Lighting.
Size and mounting position
At 23.7 cm high, 12.7 cm wide and 16.6 cm deep, it fits even beside a narrow mirror. IP44 — protection against water splashing from any direction — allows it in the bathroom by the basin; the manufacturer's photos show a pair either side of the mirror. It also suits a hallway or dining room. It weighs 1.28 kg; as a Class I fitting it needs an earth conductor.
What lights it and how
The light comes with a 3 W G9 LED lamp: 300 lm at 3000 K, warm white. That is enough to light a face at the mirror, but the bathroom's main lighting needs to come from elsewhere. The lamp is replaceable — any G9 of up to 3 W fits, and if you choose a dimmable one and add a dimmer, the light can be turned down.
The lamp is visible through the clear, wavy glass, and the uneven surface throws reflections onto the wall. With the gleaming chrome the overall effect is bright and sparkling.
Style
A classic cup on an arched arm in cool, mirror-like metal pairs best with chrome taps and white ceramics.
