The Maytoni Rim MOD058WL-L35BS3K is an LED wall light shaped as a slim ring 60 cm across, made of brass-coloured aluminium. A rectangular element runs inside the ring along its edge and is what joins the light to the wall. The light source is a built-in LED strip hidden inside the ring.
Size and mounting
The ring is 60 cm in diameter, so it takes up a 60 × 60 cm square on the wall — a figure to compare with the width of the headboard, sideboard or stretch of wall it will hang above. The whole fitting stands only 5 cm off the wall, so it does not get in the way of anyone walking past.
A mounting plate is screwed to the wall and the fitting is fixed to it; the connecting element measures 30 × 10.2 cm. The light weighs 2.5 kg net. It runs on 220–240 V, and protection class I means an earth conductor is required.
How much light, and what kind
The LED module draws 37 W and delivers 1800 lm — more than two old 60 W bulbs, so the light can serve as the main light in a small room rather than just decoration. The 3000 K colour temperature is warm white, and CRI 90 means colours in the room look true. The beam angle is 120°.
The light is not dimmable, and the LED source is built into the ring. The manufacturer states a lifetime of 50,000 hours and declares energy class G — the low efficacy is explained by the diffuser, which absorbs part of the light the strip produces.
Style and intended use
Rim belongs to the manufacturer's Modern collection: a plain ring with no ornament and a uniform brass-coloured finish. The manufacturer intends it for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, as well as hotels and restaurants. The Rim series also includes pendant and ceiling lights built from rings, which lets the same motif carry across several rooms.
