The MOCA LE42746 is a large pendant from Luces Exclusivas built from white glass spheres threaded onto cables and draped in two arcs between five suspensions. The round canopy, the spacers between the spheres and the sphere that closes the composition at the bottom are gold. The whole piece measures 118 cm across and 150 cm high.
How large it is and how much room it needs
A diameter of 118 cm puts MOCA closer to a large chandelier than to an ordinary over-table pendant. Mark that circle out where the fitting is to hang and check what ends up beneath its edges — the spheres reach further out than the ceiling fixing point.
The manufacturer states 150 cm total height, measured from the ceiling to the lowest point. Over a table the bottom edge usually sits 70–80 cm above the top, and a dining table is around 75 cm high — at the full 150 cm that adds up to roughly three metres of ceiling above the table. The fitting hangs on five thin cables running from a single canopy.
How much light it gives
The light source is built in and supplied with the fitting: an LED of 130 W drawing power, 11,376 lm of flux and a 3000 K colour. That is warm white — warmer than daylight, but without the clearly yellow cast of 2700 K. The flux alone is roughly fourteen traditional 60 W bulbs, so this fitting lights a whole room rather than only the surface under it.
The LED is integrated, so it is not changed the way a bulb is. Dimming is possible but needs a separate dimmer in the installation — the fitting carries no control of its own. It runs on 230 V.
Build, and the room it is meant for
The spheres are glass; the cables, spacers, canopy and bottom sphere are gold-finished metal. White glass set against gold is what the catalogue files as glamour, alongside modern and modernist.
The fitting is intended for a living room and a dining room — spaces with room for a circle over a metre wide, where the piece is seen from every side. It belongs to the MOCA series.
