Namsos 1929 is a square LED wall recessed light with a 22 × 22 cm face and a body of powder-coated cast aluminium in aluminium RAL 9006. The light leaves through an opening in the lower part of the face, closed with satin safety glass, and is directed downwards. The LED is built in and comes with the fitting.
Installing it in the wall
The fitting is 12 cm deep and sits in a wall opening of 215 × 215 × 115 mm; in a layered (insulated) wall an opening of 200 × 200 × 95 mm is enough. These sizes need to be fixed before plastering or cladding, as they set the position and depth of the recess. It weighs 2.06 kg.
The terminals take conductors up to 3×2.5 mm², and further fittings can be looped through with up to 3×1.5 mm² — several light points along a stair or wall then run off one supply line. The cable should be round, 7–10.5 mm in diameter.
What light it gives
The fitting draws 13.6 W and delivers 843 lm, about as much as an old 60 W bulb. 3000 K is warm white. The light is diffuse and directed downwards with nothing escaping upward, which is why the manufacturer designed it for stairs, steps, stairwells and walkways; its photometric data assume mounting at 0.5 m.
It can be dimmed with a phase dimmer — both trailing-edge and leading-edge — so it works with either of the common dimmer types.
Lifetime and service
The LED module keeps 80% of its flux for over 102,000 h. The light source and driver can be replaced, but only by a professional service — the manufacturer stocks service kit ZS1929zx0010 for this model. IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK08 states its impact resistance. It is a protection class I luminaire and must be connected to the protective earth.
