Ethan 1 is a Nordlux surface-mounted ceiling spot shaped as an aluminium cube, 10.5 cm on each side and 11.99 cm high, finished in matt white RAL 9016. It shines straight down through a square opening in its base; the body cannot be rotated or tilted.

Which bulb to buy

The fitting has a GU10 socket and takes any GU10 bulb up to 50 W. No bulb is included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself — warm 2700–3000 K for a hallway or living room, or neutral 4000 K where people work. Ethan 1 can be dimmed, but only with a bulb marked as dimmable and a wall dimmer.

Two inserts to choose from

Two sets of inner reflectors come in the box: white and silver. The white one keeps the inside the same colour as the body, while the silver one gives a shiny metallic frame around the light source, visible from below.

Mounting and linking several spots

The spot is fixed to the ceiling through a mounting plate, to which the body is secured with two screws at the side. The cable can enter from two opposite sides, and the next spot can be fed from the previous one — with the cable run inside the ceiling or on the surface. That way a row of spots, for example along a hallway, needs only one ceiling outlet.

Ethan 1 is a Class II fitting with double insulation and needs no earth conductor. IP20 means indoor use only, and at 0.55 kg it puts little load on the ceiling.
