Nordlux Fallon 47540132 LED surface-mounted ceiling light Moodmaker™ white/steel 10 cm

Nordlux Fallon 47540132 is a surface-mounted ceiling light with a white cylindrical body and a steel-coloured surround around its circular light panel. Its central LED light and separate illuminated ring provide different lighting patterns, selected through the Moodmaker™ function using an ordinary wall switch. The fitting combines a metal body with plastic components.

A compact fitting below the ceiling

The cylinder measures 10 cm across and projects 6 cm from the ceiling. Compare that footprint and projection with the space available when planning positions: Fallon sits on the surface rather than disappearing into a recessed opening. Its plain outline and restrained white-and-steel finish suit modern and minimalist interiors, without the hanging shade or decorative arms of a larger ceiling fitting.

Choosing the centre, ring or both

The first setting lights the whole fitting, the second runs the central light at 50% brightness, and the third leaves only the ring illuminated. A quick off-and-on action advances the setting, following the switching sequence in the manufacturer's instructions. These three Moodmaker™ settings are controlled through the wall switch itself, rather than requiring a separate dimmer to select them.

The integrated LEDs provide warm-white 2700 K light, with a declared output of 500 lumens and a 110° beam angle. Consider Fallon for a hallway or corridor, or as supplementary lighting in a living room, bedroom or dining area. Choose the number of fittings according to the room and its lighting requirements: the output of one unit does not establish that it can illuminate an entire room on its own.

What to prepare for installation

The 5.5 W LED source is included and is not a replaceable GU10 bulb. The manufacturer states a lifespan of 20,000 hours; the instructions call for replacement of the complete fitting when its non-replaceable source reaches the end of its life.

Fallon is intended for a fixed connection to a 230 V supply. Parallel connection is supported, and an external connector block is supplied. Mounting screws are not included, so suitable fixings must be selected for the mounting surface. Disconnect the supply before installation. This is an indoor fitting, and the instructions exclude locations where direct contact with water could occur.
