The Asker Pro 5217BL is a bollard light shaped like an inverted L: a flat head projects from a square column and shines down onto the path or lawn. The body is cast aluminium powder-coated in black, and a sealed clear PMMA lens sits under the head.
Size and installation
The bollard is 55 cm high with an 11 cm column, and the head projects 20 cm — a low fitting for marking the edge of a path, steps or a driveway, not for lighting a whole garden from one point. It weighs 3.04 kg and is bolted down through four ø8 mm holes as described in the supplied instructions.
Fixing into soil or concrete needs a separate base: Norlys offers the 1907 concrete-in anchor, the 1908 ground anchor, the 1909 concrete foundation adapter and the 3081 and 3090 mounting adapters. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and cable up to ø12.5 mm, and fittings can be looped through with up to 3 × 1.5 mm². It is a Class I fitting, so it needs a protective earth conductor.
Light output
The integrated 5.8 W LED module is rated at 828 lm, and the complete fitting emits 654 lm at 7.7 W. 4000 K is a neutral white under which planting and paving look natural. The Ledil VSM lens gives a symmetrical IESNA Type V distribution, so light spreads evenly all around the bollard rather than only in front of it.
The fitting can be dimmed with a trailing-edge (TE) phase dimmer — the Philips Xitanium driver is built in, so nothing beyond the dimmer itself is needed.
Lifetime and robustness
IP65 and IK08 impact resistance allow the bollard to stand beside a walkway, exposed to rain and the occasional accidental kick. The optical assembly of LED module and lens is sealed to IP67 on its own. The manufacturer states an L90 lifetime above 109,000 hours and 50,000 hours for the driver. The LED module and control gear may only be replaced by a professional service.
