NORLYS BERN 650GA outdoor wall light E27, hot-dip galvanised

NORLYS BERN 650GA is an outdoor wall light with a square metal front and a projecting clear glass cover. Two horizontal metal bands cross the glass, giving the Bern family its recognisable outline. This article code identifies the hot-dip galvanised version, rather than the black finish or stainless-steel-front alternative.

Choose the bulb as well as the fitting

A single E27 socket accepts an LED bulb rated at no more than 9 W. The manufacturer specifies an A55 to A60 bulb shape, and the bulb must be purchased separately. This is a replaceable-bulb fitting, not an integrated LED light with a fixed output and colour temperature.

The bulb remains visible behind the clear safety glass, so its appearance is part of the finished installation. Brightness and light colour depend on the bulb selected. The illuminated photographs show a particular lamp in use; they do not establish the same light output for every compatible E27 bulb.

Allow for the projection from the wall

The front measures 24.5 × 24.5 cm, and the fitting projects 12 cm from its mounting surface. When positioning it beside a door, compare that projection with the door's opening path. The mounting drawing specifies two 4.5 mm holes and spacing of 170 × 50 mm, allowing the fixing layout to be considered before preparing the surface.

BERN is intended for outdoor installation and is rated IP54. Its wall-mounted format suits façades, balconies and terraces, including the outdoor areas of hotels and restaurants. The illumination of a particular area still depends on the selected bulb and the arrangement of the fittings.

Galvanised steel with an aluminium base

This variant has a hot-dip galvanised steel front, a powder-coated cast-aluminium base and a silicone seal around the clear safety glass. The square outline and exposed metal bands support a modern or industrial approach to exterior lighting without the decorative detailing of a traditional lantern.

The fitting operates on 220–240 V and belongs to electrical protection class I, requiring a protective earth connection. Installation should be undertaken by a qualified electrician. Disconnect the supply before changing the bulb and replace damaged protective glass in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
