The Bern 675GA is a square NORLYS outdoor wall light with a hot-dip galvanised steel front and a satin safety-glass shade crossed by two horizontal bands. It has a built-in LED module and a microwave motion sensor with a daylight switch, so after dark it switches itself on when someone approaches.
How big it is and how it is fixed
The fitting measures 24.5 × 24.5 cm, projects 12 cm from the wall and weighs 3.16 kg. It is screwed on through two ø4.5 mm holes at 170 × 50 mm centres, following the instructions supplied. The manufacturer calculated the light distribution on its datasheet for mounting at 2.5 m — a reference point when planning the spot above a door.
It is a protection class I fitting, so it needs a protective earth (PE) conductor. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and up to 3 × 1.5 mm² when looping through to the next fitting; the round-sheathed cable must be 7 to 10.5 mm in diameter.
How much light it gives, and what kind
It draws 11.2 W and gives out 819 lm — roughly what an old 60 W bulb did. 3000 K is warm white, and CRI 80 is enough to tell colours apart at the door. The satin glass diffuses the light and hides the module itself, and ULOR 6% means only a small share of the light goes upwards.
Motion and daylight sensor
The MC030S L microwave sensor switches the light on when it detects movement, the daylight switch stops it coming on during the day, and the motion hold keeps the fitting lit while someone is nearby.
Build and servicing
The hot-dip galvanised front has the matt, silvery grey of zinc and needs no paint; the base is powder-coated cast aluminium. IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction, and IK07 resistance to a 2 J impact. It suits the spot above a front door, a balcony and the entrances of hotels and restaurants.
The Philips Fortimo LED module is rated L70 at over 50,000 hours; it is replaced only by a professional service, using service kit ZS0906750000.
