Norlys Egersund 1280AL LED bollard light 20.3 W 3000 K 108 cm, light grey RAL 9006

Egersund 1280AL is a Norlys bollard light 108 cm tall and 20 cm in diameter, powder-coated in light grey RAL 9006. The body is cast aluminium, and at the top sits a clear PMMA cylinder through which a conical element that directs the light sideways is visible.

How much light and what kind

The integrated LED module draws 20.3 W and the fitting delivers 1681 lm (the source itself produces 2617 lm). That is more than an old 100 W bulb, so a bollard of this height lights a wide band of ground around it. 3000 K is a warm, slightly yellowish white.

The light spreads evenly all round; the manufacturer gives a BUG rating of B1-U3-G1. The fitting can be dimmed with a phase dimmer, trailing edge (TE) or leading edge (LE). The LED module and driver are replaced by a professional service (service kit ZS1280zx0014), and the manufacturer states a source lifetime of over 102,000 h at L80 and over 52,600 h at L90.

Installation and wiring

The bollard weighs 11.47 kg and is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes spaced 120° apart on a 65 mm circle. For setting it, Norlys sells a ground anchor 1231GA, a concrete anchor 1230ZX and a mounting adapter 3087GA separately, as well as junction boxes 6136 and 6137.

The terminals take conductors up to 2×4 mm², and a further fitting can be looped through at the same cross-section, so several bollards along a path can run from one supply line. The gland accepts round cable 8–17 mm in diameter. The manufacturer specifies that installation and servicing are carried out by a suitably qualified person.

Durability and where it fits

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK08 is the impact rating that matters beside a driveway and on ground many people use. The light is protection class II, so no earth conductor is needed. The bollard suits a garden, a terrace, a driveway edge, a street frontage, a park and the grounds of hotels and restaurants. The plain cylindrical form without ornament fits a modern, Scandinavian style.
