NORLYS London 484WH bollard light, white RAL 9003, E27, 47 cm

NORLYS London 484 is a low bollard light in the shape of a classic lantern: a square head with four clear panels, a pitched roof topped with a ball finial, and a shaped pedestal on a stepped square base. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in white, RAL 9003. The manufacturer designed it for lighting gardens and terraces, and its style is classic and English.

Dimensions and mounting

The bollard is 47 cm tall, and the head and base fit within a 20 × 20 cm square. At this height the light falls on a path, entrance steps or the edge of a terrace rather than into the eyes of people walking past.

The fitting is screwed to the ground, a low wall, a platform or another stable structure through two ø5.5 mm holes spaced 90 mm apart. For setting into the ground the manufacturer provides concrete anchor no. 307, sold separately — budget for it if the bollard is to stand on a lawn or in a flower bed.

Light source

Inside is an E27 socket for an LED bulb in the A55 to A60 shape, up to 9 W. No bulb is included, and it is replaced by the user. Norlys names an LED E27 806 lm / 8.5 W / 2700 K bulb for this fitting, which matches the brightness of an old 60 W bulb with a warm, slightly yellow light. A wider decorative globe or a long candle bulb will not fit in the head, so stay within the A55–A60 size.

The clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate shade does not diffuse the light: the bulb stays visible and light leaves through all four sides of the head.

Build and connection

The IP54 rating means protection against dust and against splashing water from any direction, so the bollard can stand outdoors without cover. IK07 stands for resistance to an impact of 2 J, and protection class II means double insulation — the fitting needs no earth conductor.

The cable enters through an EPDM gland. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next fitting, so several bollards along a path can run on one cable. A round-sheathed cable with a diameter of 7–10.5 mm fits. The shade is available from the manufacturer as a spare part.
