NORLYS Moss 6738GR outdoor spotlight, graphite RAL 7016, LED 4.2 W 3000 K, 36°, with clamp for Ø76 pole

The Moss 6738GR is a small outdoor spotlight in graphite RAL 7016, sold as a set with a clamp for mounting on a 76 mm pole. Its cylindrical head is made of powder-coated cast aluminium and closed with clear safety glass. The set consists of the luminaire (art. 6705) and the Ø76 clamp (art. 6436).

Mounting and dimensions

The clamp tightens around a 76 mm pole or tube, and the head sits on a short arm off to the side. The whole set is 20.5 cm wide, and the head is about 9 cm in diameter and 6.5 cm deep. The beam can also be tilted vertically, so the spotlight can point down at a path or up at a tree or a wall. Norlys sells the other clamps (6434, 6435), the 6729 mounting adapter and the 145 connection box separately.

A 3 m H05RN-F 3G1 cable leaves the spotlight and is connected in a suitably chosen junction box. The luminaire is protection class I, so the protective earth conductor must be connected, and IP65 means it is dust-tight and protected against water jets – it can work outdoors without any cover.

How much light it gives

The integrated 4 W LED module produces 439 lm, of which 382 lm leave the spotlight at a consumption of 4.2 W. That is accent-light output, concentrated in a symmetrical 36° beam: according to the manufacturer, from 2 m away the pool of light is about 1.45 m across, and from 3 m about 2.2 m. A spotlight like this picks out a tree, a shrub or part of a facade rather than lighting the whole garden.

3000 K is warm white light, and CRI 80 is the usual colour rendering level in outdoor lighting. The spotlight is phase-dimmable and works with both trailing-edge (TE) and leading-edge (LE) dimmers.

Lifetime and servicing

Norlys rates the module at L70 59,000 h – after that time it still delivers at least 70% of its initial light output, which at three hours a day means more than 50 years. The LED module can be replaced only by a professional Norlys service, so a module failure does not mean replacing the whole spotlight. Norlys designed it for gardens, private grounds and architectural lighting; it suits the garden and facades as well as the surroundings of hotels and restaurants.
