Norlys NARVIK 5091AL bollard light, light grey, LED 22.5 W 3000 K, 95 cm, DALI2

NARVIK 5091AL is a 95 cm bollard light, 24 cm in diameter, made of cast aluminium powder-coated light grey (RAL 9006). The shaft is topped by a domed cap, beneath which light leaves on four sides through a clear diffuser of UV-stabilised polycarbonate. An inspection door in the shaft gives access to the connection.

How much light, and what kind

The source is a 19 W Philips Fortimo LED module, and the whole luminaire draws 22.5 W. The module produces 3137 lm, but the cap and optics direct the light down and sideways, so 597 lm leaves the luminaire — a level meant for lighting a path, a driveway or the area around a building from low height, not for flooding a large square. 3000 K is warm white, and CRI 80 is the usual colour rendering for outdoor area lighting.

The luminaire is controlled over DALI2 with the NightDim function. The driver is factory-programmed for maximum current; dimming needs a DALI controller, and a standard phase dimmer will not work. Other parameters, such as a night-time dimming schedule, Norlys programs by arrangement with its sales department.

Installation and connection

The bollard is bolted down through six oval 10 × 15 mm holes spaced every 60° on a 172 mm diameter. The concreting anchor and foundation adapters are sold separately. The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 4 mm², and luminaires can be looped through with cable up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and 12.5 mm outer diameter. It is protection class I, so it needs a protective earth. According to the manufacturer, up to 28 of these luminaires can run on a B16 breaker and up to 18 on a B10.

Durability and service

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK10 is the highest impact rating — relevant for bollards next to footpaths or car parks. The LED module and the driver are replaced by a service technician, and Norlys supplies repair kits for them. The manufacturer quotes an LED life of over 60,000 hours (L90B10), 100,000 hours for the driver and a 5-year warranty. Norlys intends this luminaire for private grounds and public areas.
