NORLYS Narvik II 559GR LED bollard light 13.4 W 3000 K, satin diffuser, graphite RAL 7016, 95 cm

NORLYS Narvik II 559GR is a 95 cm LED bollard with a domed cap over a ring of satin diffuser. The body is cast aluminium, powder-coated in graphite RAL 7016, and an inspection door in the shaft gives access to the terminals.

How much light it gives and where it goes

The integrated LED module shines at 3000 K, a warm white. The luminaire emits 666 lm at 13.4 W. The module itself produces 1940 lm, but the satin diffuser and the cap hold back part of it — 666 lm is the figure to compare with other bollards. The diffuser scatters the light, so from the side you see an evenly lit ring rather than individual LEDs.

Light leaves on four sides and is screened from above by the cap. The manufacturer states a ULOR of 18%, the share of the flux that goes above the horizontal. According to the isolux diagram, 10 lx reaches about 1.5 m from the bollard and 5 lx about 2 m; compare these distances with the spacing you plan between bollards. The luminaire can be dimmed with a phase-cut dimmer, either trailing edge (TE) or leading edge (LE).

Where to place it

The manufacturer intends Narvik II for private grounds and public areas: it suits a garden path, a terrace, a driveway, a park, a street and the entrance of a hotel or restaurant. A plain graphite column with a domed cap and no ornament fits the Scandinavian style. Its footprint is 24 × 24 cm, to compare with the width of the walkway.

IP65 means the housing is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so the bollard stands outdoors without a roof. IK10 is the top class of the impact-resistance scale (20 J), which matters in the public areas the bollard is designed for. Protection class II means it needs no protective earth conductor.

Installation and service

The bollard is bolted down through six oval 10 × 15 mm holes spaced at 60° on a 172 mm diameter circle. The concrete anchor, the concrete foundation adapter and the mounting adapters are sold separately, so choose them for your base before installation. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 4 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next bollard. Connection is done by an electrician.

The LED module and the electronic driver are included, so there is no light source to buy. They are not user-replaceable, but the manufacturer provides for their replacement by a professional service and offers the ZS559zx0010 service kit. According to the product card the module keeps 80% of its flux for more than 102,000 hours and 90% for more than 52,600 hours. The luminaire weighs 10.43 kg net.
