Nowodvorski NESS 6768 black pendant lamp, 45 cm wide

Nowodvorski NESS 6768 is a black pendant with an open cage of painted steel. The manufacturer labels this variant NESS BLACK, in leading colour black RAL 9005. One E27 lampholder sits in the centre. No light source is included, and the rods do not hide the bulb.

Width, drop and table clearance

The cage is 45 cm wide and 27 cm high. As supplied, the suspension reaches a maximum of 125 cm from the canopy to the lower edge of the cage. The canopy itself is a black cylinder, 5.5 cm wide and 7.5 cm high. The dimension drawing does not show a separate short adjustment range.

Over a tabletop of about 75–90 cm, the cage is clearly narrower than the table, so it reads as one pendant over the centre rather than a long bar. Before ordering, subtract 125 cm from the ceiling height: that is the floor clearance under the cage if the suspension is left at full length. Shortening is not a user dial. The producer card reserves a change of height for a qualified electrician.

Which bulb to buy and how it is fixed

The fitting takes a replaceable E27 source of 25 W maximum, and LED only. A halogen or a conventional filament lamp is outside that limit even if the cap matches. Supply is about 220–230 V at 50/60 Hz. Protection class I means the ceiling outlet must provide a protective earth. Mounting is by a bridge bracket, fixed to the ceiling, not plugged into a socket.

The carton contains the luminaire and the instruction. The E27 LED bulb is a separate purchase. Net weight is 1.7 kg and the packed weight is 2.61 kg. After switching off and cooling, wipe it with a damp cloth. Keep moisture out of the terminal area.

How it lights and where it belongs

The open cage is not a spotlight. Light leaves between the rods to the sides and downwards, and the lit bulb stays visible. Colour and brightness depend on the bulb, not on the fitting. The catalogue card names the style as modern. Black steel and an exposed source also read as industrial and loft.

The producer rates it for indoor use, with IP20. That is a limit, not a selling point: bathroom, terrace and garden are out. A sensible place is a dining table or a living room where the 45 cm cage is a feature rather than task light. In a bedroom it belongs over open floor space, not over a narrow bedside top.
