Outdoor Wall Lamp Ideallux Andromeda AP2 Black Aluminum 100371

Ideal Lux Andromeda AP2 100371 is a black outdoor wall light with an elongated die-cast aluminium body. Two frosted Pyrex glass panels cover the upward and downward light openings, keeping the bulbs out of direct front view. Its slightly curved face creates a horizontal feature rather than the outline of a round facade light.

Allowing space for the longer AP2

The body measures 45 cm long, 8 cm high and 9.5 cm deep. Compare these dimensions with the available wall area and the distance to doors or other building details. The low height should not be mistaken for a short fitting: this is the longer AP2 version, not the smaller Andromeda AP1. Leave access for future bulb replacement when choosing the position.

The black painted finish and shape without decorative arms suit modern, modernist and minimalist schemes. Potential locations include a facade, a terrace or balcony wall, or a masonry boundary with a suitable electrical supply. Light is directed onto surfaces above and below the fitting. The front is not an open cover exposing the bulbs.

Choosing two bulbs separately

There are two E27 sockets, each rated for a bulb of up to 60 W. Bulbs are not included. You therefore choose the light colour and the bulbs' own specifications when purchasing the light sources; the black housing does not establish a colour temperature. The frosted glass covers the sources but does not replace the need to select suitable bulbs. Ideal Lux lists the fitting as non-dimmable, so compatibility with a dimmer should not be assumed.

Outdoor installation and connection

Andromeda is rated IP55, with a stated operating temperature range of -15 to +45 °C. It uses a 220–240 V AC supply. As a Class I fitting, it requires a protective earth connection. The instructions require installation by a qualified electrician. Fixings must suit the mounting surface, and the supply must be disconnected before installation or maintenance. Assess the intended position against both the fitting's dimensions and its installation requirements, not simply the appearance of a room photograph.
