Moss 6162BL is a small Norlys directional spotlight: a round head 8 cm in diameter on a curved arm rising from a round base. The cast aluminium body is powder-coated black (RAL 9005), and the front of the head is closed by a pane of clear safety glass.
What light it gives
The integrated LED module shines at 4000 K – neutral white – with CRI 80; it is the cooler counterpart of the 3000 K Moss 6161. The 4 W module produces 466 lm, and 406 lm leaves the fitting, which draws 4.2 W, concentrated in a 36° beam; the energy efficiency class is E. According to the manufacturer's datasheet, at 1 m the light spot is about 0.73 m across with about 705 lx at its centre, and at 3 m about 2.20 m across with 78 lx. It is a spotlight for picking out a single feature, not for lighting a whole garden. The fitting dims with a phase dimmer, leading edge or trailing edge.
Wall or ceiling mounting
The fitting is screwed to a wall or a ceiling through two oval 5 × 10 mm holes spaced 40 mm apart. It projects 13.2 cm from the surface and weighs 0.4 kg. The head turns, including in the vertical plane, so the same spotlight can be aimed at a wall, a plant or a path.
The wires are joined with a 3M Scotchlok 316IR connector, which takes two or three 0.5–1.5 mm² conductors without stripping the insulation. The junction box 145ZX0009, the mounting adapter 6729 and the clamps 6434, 6435 and 6436 are sold separately. It is a protection class I fitting, so a protective earth conductor must be connected.
Build and service
The IP65 rating allows the spotlight to be installed outdoors without a canopy, and IK06 means the housing withstands an impact energy of 1 J. Only a professional Norlys service replaces the LED module; the manufacturer gives an L70 lifetime of 59,000 hours, meaning the module still delivers 70% of its initial output after that time.
