MEKONG 4420 is an outdoor wall light built from two black lacquered cylinders stacked one above the other on a single flat wall bracket. The wall of each cylinder is cut with rows of short horizontal slots, and both ends β top and bottom β are closed with glass. The fitting stands 30 cm tall and projects 16 cm from the wall.
How much room it needs and how it mounts
The cylinders are 8 cm across and the fitting is 30 cm high β compare that against the width of the pillar, door reveal or strip of wall you mean to use. Hold the 16 cm projection against the width of the passage: in a narrow porch the light reaches into the walking line.
Mounting is direct β the fitting screws to the wall over the installation box. The manufacturer states protection class I, so an earth conductor has to be brought to the fitting. The light itself weighs 0.94 kg, and 1.1 kg boxed.
Which lamps to buy
The fitting has two light points with E27 sockets and no lamps are supplied β you buy two separately. The manufacturer permits LED lamps only, up to 10 W per socket, so halogen and incandescent bulbs are ruled out even though they fit the thread.
Because you choose the lamps yourself, the colour of the light is your decision. At a house entrance 2700β3000 K is the usual pick: warm, slightly yellow light close to the old filament bulb.
Where it can hang outdoors
An IP42 rating means protection against solid objects larger than 1 mm and against vertically dripping water, including with the fitting tilted up to 15Β°. That is a figure meant for sheltered positions β under an eave, in an arcade, on a roofed terrace β not for a wall exposed to driving rain.
The body is lacquered aluminium, the ends are closed with glass and the finish is black. Light leaves through both open ends, running up and down the wall, and additionally through the rows of slots in the body, so part of the output falls sideways as well. The fitting runs on 220β230 V at 50/60 Hz.
