Asker Big Pro 5080AL is an outdoor wall light shaped as a rectangular box, 30.2 cm wide, 12.5 cm high and 12.1 cm deep. The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in light grey (RAL 9006), and the light openings are closed with clear, structured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate seated on a silicone gasket.
How it lights and where it fits
The fitting shines in two directions – one beam up, one down – so it draws two bands of light on the wall above and below the body. The manufacturer designed it for lighting walls and facades. Its BUG rating of B0-U4-G0 means a marked upward component, so it is worth checking what sits above the mounting point: eaves, a window or a balcony.
Drawing 13.3 W, the fitting delivers 1186 lm – clearly more than an old 60 W bulb. 3000 K is warm white, and a CRI of 80 is enough for everyday lighting of an entrance or facade. The LED module and driver are built in, so there is no bulb to buy. Control is over DALI2: dimming needs a DALI installation, and an ordinary wall dimmer will not work.
Durability
IP65 means a dust-tight housing protected against water jets from any direction, so the light can hang on an unsheltered wall. IK08 stands for resistance to a 5 J impact, which is useful beside walkways and at heights where the fitting is easy to knock.
Mounting and connection
The light weighs 2.62 kg. It can be fixed through an intermediate plate with two 5 × 10 mm adjustment slots 45 mm apart, or directly through two ø5 mm holes 68 mm apart. It is a protection class I fitting, so it needs a protective earth conductor and should be connected by an electrician. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to loop through to the next fitting (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²). For a longer row, allow for the 20 A inrush current: the manufacturer states that a circuit on a B 10 A breaker takes up to 10 of these fittings, and one on a B 16 A breaker up to 30.
