Geneve 1874GR is a NORLYS outdoor wall light with a flat rectangular back plate and a body projecting from it that throws light up and down the wall at the same time. It is powder-coated cast aluminium in graphite RAL 7016, and the light openings are closed by clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate. It takes one E27 bulb, which is not included.
Size and installation
The light is 31 cm high and 21 cm wide — a size to compare with the free strip of wall beside a door or between windows. It weighs 1.47 kg. It is intended for lighting walls and facades, including at hotels and restaurants, and the plain geometric body without ornament is both modern and modernist.
It is fixed through two ø5 mm holes spaced 100 × 132 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the supply can be looped on to the next fitting with conductors up to 3 × 1.5 mm². The supply cable must have a round sheath 7–10.5 mm in diameter, because the EPDM cable gland is made for that range.
What light it gives
Inside there is room for one E27 bulb of A55–A60 shape, LED up to 9 W. You therefore choose the colour and brightness yourself when buying the bulb, and it is changed without a service visit. Light leaves through two slots, top and bottom. With ULOR 50 %, half of the light goes upwards, so the wall shows two bright bands above and below the fitting rather than a pool of light on the ground.
Ruggedness and servicing
IP65 lets it go on a wall with no canopy above, and IK08 means a housing that withstands impacts of up to 5 J. The light is protection class I, so it is connected with a protective earth conductor. A silicone gasket keeps it sealed, and it operates from -20 to +45 °C. If the diffuser is damaged, NORLYS supplies it as service kit number 06870010.
