The Parkstone Medium is a bollard light shaped as a rectangular block of basalt stone, 40 cm tall. A deep recess is cut into its front face, topped by a strip of 316 stainless steel; the plate at the foot of the bollard is made of the same steel. The family also includes a taller Parkstone Large.
How big it is and where it goes
The bollard has a 22 × 16 cm footprint and stands 40 cm high — roughly knee height on an adult — so it marks the edge of a path or a border rather than replacing a lamp post on a driveway. The front is flat, so it is positioned with the recess facing the area it should light.
The fitting weighs 16 kg. The stainless steel base plate has holes in its corners for bolting the bollard down. IP55 means protection against dust and against water jets from any direction, so it can stand outdoors without any cover.
What kind of light it gives
The light source is an integrated 6 W LED module mounted under the steel strip and aimed downwards into the recess. The rough, sandblasted stone inside the recess spreads the light, so from the side you see an evenly lit niche rather than a bare diode. The module is included, but it cannot be swapped like a bulb.
The manufacturer states 650 lm at 3000 K — a warm white close to a traditional incandescent bulb, which does not glare in a garden at night. A colour rendering index above 80 keeps plants and paving next to the bollard looking their natural colour.
Build and connection
The body is solid basalt and the metal parts are 316 stainless steel, a grade with better corrosion resistance than the common 304. The stone has a matt dark grey surface with a fine grain that shows clearly in the close-ups.
The bollard runs directly on 220–240 V mains, so a supply cable has to be brought to the installation point. It is a Class II fitting with double insulation, which means no earth conductor needs to be connected.
