Paul Neuhaus Akku Puntua 8152-79 is a rechargeable wall light with a round front disc in a natural oak veneer finish. The LED sits behind the front and creates a halo of light on the wall. From the front, you see the disc rather than the individual light source.
A wall light without a permanent power cable
The built-in battery lets you mount the lamp without a fixed electrical connection at that spot. The disc measures 18 cm across and the fitting projects 4.5 cm from the wall. Allow space around the disc when planning its position: this is where the reflected-light effect becomes visible.
The lamp can be removed from its mounting for charging and then put back. A 1 m USB cable is included; a mains adapter is not supplied. Charging uses a 5 V supply. This IP20 model is intended for indoor use.
Three brightness levels and running times
The included infrared remote switches the light on and off and selects 100%, 50% or 10% brightness. The manufacturer specifies approximately seven hours at full brightness, 20 hours at the middle setting and 40 hours at the lowest setting. These are different running times depending on the setting, rather than 40 hours at full output.
The timer can switch the light off after one, three or six hours. Memory retains the last setting. The fitting works as mood lighting beside a sideboard or seating area, or as part of a composition of several separately purchased lamps.
Warm-white LED source included
The complete fitting emits 100 lm of warm-white light at a rated power of 1 W. The LED source alone is specified at 160 lm. Use 100 lm when comparing the brightness of complete fittings. The LED is included, so no separate bulb is required.
