Paul Neuhaus PURE Surface 2302-97 is an LED pendant light with a straight horizontal beam and rectangular ceiling canopy. Finish: bronze. Its suspension height can be adapted to the installation position; compare the dimensions of the complete fitting with the surface that will sit below it.
At just 2.5 cm wide, the body forms a fine line, although it occupies the full length stated above over the tabletop. A strip of light running along it distinguishes this construction from a fitting with several separate shades.
Height and span of the fitting
Overall height is adjustable: 100–150 cm. The complete fitting measures 160 × 2.5 cm in plan. The body length stays fixed when adjusting the height. Thin cables connect the canopy to the horizontal light strip.
The adjustment range describes the complete fitting from the ceiling, rather than the length of the shade alone. Before installation, compare it with the height of the room and the position of the tabletop. Raising and lowering changes the distance from the light source to the illuminated surface; this is a separate adjustment from dimming.
Light and controls
The LED sources are included and emit warm white light. The 3000 K colour temperature is fixed: this is a warm shade of white rather than a system for switching between warm and cool light.
Brightness can be adjusted using a separate TronicDimmer. This control must be selected separately, so allow for a compatible dimmer when planning the installation. Buying the fitting itself does not mean that a wall dimmer is supplied with it.
The complete fitting delivers 1300 lm. This is the useful figure for comparing the brightness of finished lights because it accounts for the light leaving the body. Dimming reduces that output whenever full brightness is not needed.
