The LUNA BLACK from the Luna series is a pendant lamp with two open shades of black metal wire in a many-sided form. The shades hang on black cables from a straight ceiling bar, each at a different height. Frame, shades and cables share one colour — black.
How big it is and where to hang it
The ceiling bar measures 53 cm, and that figure sets the spacing of the two light points — over a narrow worktop or a table for two, the fitting covers its whole length. Depth is 25 cm.
Maximum drop is 120 cm, measured from the ceiling to the bottom edge of the lower shade. Over a table the cables are usually shortened so the bottom edges sit 70–80 cm above the top. The fitting weighs 1.4 kg gross, so the load on the fixing point is small.
The shades and the character of the light
The shades are open wire baskets and do not cover the bulb — it stays fully visible and the light leaves in every direction. Two things follow: a decorative bulb is worth buying because it becomes part of the lamp, and the wire mesh throws the pattern of its own struts onto the ceiling and walls.
There is no diffusing shade, so the exposed bulb glares when you look at it from the side. Over a worktop, below eye level, that effect disappears.
Bulbs and where it can be mounted
The lamp takes two E27 bulbs of up to 60 W each. None are supplied, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself; 60 W is a ceiling that accommodates a classic incandescent lamp as readily as any LED equivalent.
Supply is 230 V, and IP20 means mounting in dry interiors only. The manufacturer intends this fitting for the living room, the hallway, the kitchen and for hospitality venues.
