BIANCA 8210 is a pendant light with a flat, wave-shaped shade of white acrylic with a textured surface. The shade measures 73 cm long and 34 cm wide at 10.3 cm thick, and hangs on two thin cables below a rectangular 22 cm ceiling plate. The design is by José Ignacio Ballester.
How low it hangs and over what
From ceiling to the lower edge of the shade the fitting measures at most 150 cm, and the drop is set by shortening the cables. Over a table the drop is usually chosen so the lower edge sits 70–80 cm above the top: with a 2.5 m ceiling and a 75 cm table that works out about a metre below the ceiling, well inside the adjustment range.
The elongated 73 × 34 cm body suits a rectangular top rather than a round one — compare those 73 cm with the length of your own table. The fitting weighs 2.48 kg, and the 22 × 7 cm ceiling plate covers a standard installation box.
How much light it gives
The 40 W LED module delivers 2450 lm, roughly what three old 60 W bulbs gave — enough for the main light over a table. 3000 K is a warm, slightly yellow light, and Ra 80 is the level normal for home lighting; where shades of colour have to match exactly, a higher figure is worth looking for.
The textured acrylic spreads the light across the whole shade, so the entire body glows rather than a point. The manufacturer quotes 30 000 hours and 30 000 switching cycles; the module is not changed like a bulb, so the life of the diodes is the life of the fitting.
Dimming and connection
The luminaire dims on TRIAC, but no dimmer is supplied — one has to be bought separately and wired into the supply circuit. Both suspension cables are 150 cm long.
It runs on 220–240 V, is protection class I, which means a connection to an installation with an earth conductor, and IP20, which keeps it to dry interiors. The manufacturer gives a five-year warranty.
