Pendant Light SLV NUMINOS PD DALI M Black 2700K 13W 1004532

The NUMINOS PD DALI M is a pendant light in matt black aluminium, shaped as a plain cylinder 8.5 cm in diameter and 18.5 cm tall. An integrated LED module sits in a black ring at the bottom of the body and shines downwards with a 60° beam. The light hangs from a 250 cm cable, finished at the ceiling with a round canopy 10.3 cm across.

Size and installation

At 8.5 cm across, several of these fit in a row above a worktop without looking crowded. The 250 cm cable can be shortened at the canopy – the SLV manual explains how to loosen the strain relief, cut the cable and reconnect the wires. That lets you set the bottom edge of the light at a height that suits the worktop and the room.

The manufacturer intends the light for ceiling mounting only, in dry indoor rooms. It weighs 1.15 kg and is protection class I, which means it has to be connected to an earth conductor.

How much light it gives

The LED module draws 13 W and delivers 1750 lm – enough to light a worktop properly rather than just accent it. At 2700 K the light is warm and slightly yellowish, close to a traditional incandescent bulb, and a colour rendering index of Ra 90 means food and surfaces underneath look almost as they do in daylight.

The light source is built in and, according to SLV, can only be replaced by a professional; the same applies to the control gear housed inside the fitting. SLV states a service life of 50,000 hours, so at a few hours a day a replacement is years away.

DALI dimming

The light dims over DALI, and SLV also lists Touch control. Besides L, N and earth, the terminal block has two DA terminals, so a DALI control cable has to be run to the ceiling box. That suits a new installation or one that already has a DALI bus; the light is not intended for an ordinary wall dimmer.

Where to hang it

Our catalogue lists this light for use above a kitchen island, where the narrow 60° beam concentrates the light on the worktop. The form is minimalist: a smooth cylinder with no ornament, uniform matt black and a thin cable, so even several in a row do not weigh the room down.
