QUIME is a crescent-shaped wall light: a plaster bowl open at the top, sitting flat against the wall. It is white, matt and distinctly wider than it is tall — 17 cm from the bottom to the upper rim.
How it spreads the light
The bowl is open at the top and closed at the front, so the light leaves mainly upward and washes the wall above the fitting. The lit bulb stays out of the line of sight, and the bright accent forms on the wall instead.
The manufacturer allows one lamp of up to 5 W, which puts QUIME in the role of mood lighting. It will not light a room on its own — it works alongside the main lighting.
Which bulb you need to buy
The fitting takes one bulb with an E14 base, and the manufacturer gives 5 W as the maximum lamp wattage. No bulb is included.
That ceiling settles the choice: 5 W today is the wattage of an LED lamp, not a filament one — a filament bulb at that rating would give next to no light. Colour and brightness are therefore chosen together with the bulb. For dimming you need a lamp described as dimmable and a dimmer in the installation.
Plaster, and what follows from it
The body is cast in plaster and finished in matt white — no gloss, no visible fittings. Plaster takes ordinary emulsion paint, which is why this family of lights is usually painted in the wall colour; the light then stops being a separate object and merges into the wall.
Plaster is a porous material, so the fitting is intended for dry interiors. It is fed directly from the 230 V mains.
