Rendl LALA spotlight for 1-circuit track, black/brass, GU10, 230 V

LALA is a cylindrical spotlight for a 1-circuit track. The head is 5,6 cm across and 8 cm long, finished in black with a brass ring around the front edge; the short stem joining it to the black track adapter is brass as well. The whole fitting stands 13 cm tall.

How it gets onto the track

The adapter drops into a 1-circuit track of the Rendl system and locks with a twist — no tools and no work on the wiring. The track carries 230 V, so the fitting has no driver of its own; the supply goes straight to the GU10 lampholder.

The track itself, the feed and the end caps are bought separately — the spotlight is a component of the system, not a complete set. It weighs 206 g, so several can share one length of track without a load problem.

How it aims the light

The head tilts through 90° and turns through 350°, effectively a full circle. That range lets the same spotlight be pointed at a picture on the wall, at a bookshelf or at a worktop — and re-aimed later without sliding the fitting along the track.

The cylindrical shade is opaque and screens the lamp from the side, so light leaves only from the front, in a narrow cone set by the lamp you choose.

The lamp it takes

The fitting takes one GU10 lamp of up to 9 W in LED form. No lamp is supplied, so colour, brightness and beam angle are yours to choose — when lighting pictures, the angle decides whether the pool of light covers the whole work or only its centre.

The fitting can be dimmed as long as the lamp is described as dimmable and there is a dimmer in the circuit.

Construction

Black against brass repeats on the stem and on the ring of the shade, so the spotlight reads as one element rather than a black shape with a trim added. On a black track it is mostly the brass that stays visible.
