SUPROS 78 is a surface-mounted ceiling spotlight shaped as a white aluminium cylinder 7.8 cm in diameter, held on a round base. The head rotates and tilts, so the light can be aimed where it is needed — at a picture, a wall or one part of the room.
Installation and aiming
The light is 15.8 cm tall and, according to the manufacturer's instructions, suitable for surface mounting on a ceiling only. The head rotates through 350° and tilts by 60°, which lets you light a wall at an angle rather than just the floor below the lamp.
The LED driver is built in at the factory, so the fitting connects directly to 230 V mains and no separate transformer has to be bought. It is a protection class I luminaire and needs an earth connection, which an electrician should check during installation.
What light it gives
The light source is an integrated 12 W LED module producing 700 lm at 3000 K, a warm white. That is slightly less than an old 60 W bulb, so SUPROS 78 works as directional light or with several units in a row, not as the only light in a large room. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is enough for everyday home lighting.
A 60° wide-angle reflector is included. The manufacturer sells narrower 20° (116302) and 40° (116304) reflectors separately, which are exchanged without tools; a narrower beam picks out a single object more strongly.
The light can be dimmed with a trailing-edge phase dimmer. The LED module and driver are replaceable only by a professional service, and the manufacturer states a service life of 25,000 hours.
