Spectrum GU10 LED Bulb 10 W 840 lm 6000 K White with Frosted Lens

This is a GU10 LED bulb in a white body, closed at the front with a frosted lens. It measures 50 mm across and 56 mm long — the usual size for a GU10 lamp — so it goes into fittings and downlights made for that base.

How much light it gives, and what colour

The bulb puts out 840 lm, roughly what an old 60 W incandescent gave. The 6000 K colour is cool light, clearly white with a bluish cast — the kind chosen for a workshop, a garage or a utility room rather than for evening light in a living room.

The frosted lens spreads the light and hides the individual diodes, so the lit surface reads as even rather than dotted. The beam angle is 110°, wide for a GU10 base: the light covers a broad pool under the fitting instead of gathering into a narrow spot. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is the ordinary level for general-purpose sources; where colours have to match exactly — at a mirror or in a wardrobe — Ra 90 and above is what to reach for.

What it needs, and what it will not do

The bulb runs straight off 230 V at 50 Hz and draws 70 mA, so it needs no transformer or driver — it twists into an ordinary GU10 holder. The manufacturer intends it for indoor use only.

It cannot be dimmed: the manufacturer states plainly that dimming is not supported, so this source does not belong on a circuit with a dimmer. The operating temperature range runs from -20 to +40°C.

Consumption and service life

Power draw is 10 W, which over a thousand hours of burning comes to 10 kWh — a figure to multiply by your own rate per kilowatt-hour. On the current A–G scale the energy efficiency class is F.

The manufacturer rates the bulb at 17 000 hours and 15 000 switching cycles. The second number matters where a light goes on dozens of times a day — a hallway, a stairwell, a bathroom — because there it runs out first. The warranty covers 2 years.
