Steinel DL Vario Quattro S LED ceiling light with motion sensor, white, 9.8 W, 3000 K

The white Steinel DL Vario Quattro S is an LED ceiling light whose diffuser also acts as the motion sensors’ lens. Its shallow, circular plastic body has no protruding detector, giving it a restrained, minimalist appearance. This 035440 variant produces warm white light at 3000 K and is designed for ceiling mounting indoors or outdoors.

Set detection separately in four directions

Four infrared sensors provide combined 360° detection. Reach can be adjusted independently from 2 to 8 m in each of four directions, allowing the detection area to follow an entrance or passage rather than extending equally on every side. Walls and panes of glass block the heat radiation used by the sensors, so movement behind these obstacles will not trigger the light.

Rotary controls set the brightness threshold between 2 and 1000 lx and the stay-on time between 5 seconds and 30 minutes. Each further detected movement restarts the countdown. Basic lighting operates at approximately 10% output and can be switched off or selected for 10 minutes, 30 minutes or the whole night. Four-hour continuous lighting is available through the specified switching sequence using an optional mains switch.

Light for entrances and circulation areas

The integrated LEDs consume 9.8 W, while the complete luminaire delivers 1000 lm. No separate bulb is required, but neither the light source nor the control gear is replaceable. Steinel identifies entrances, carports, corridors and stairwells among its applications. IP54 supports outdoor use when the installation requirements are followed. The uninterrupted diffuser and simple outline suit a functional, contemporary setting.

Ceiling fit and installation requirements

The diameter is 31 cm and the height is 6.9 cm. Recommended mounting height is 2.8 m, with a maximum of 6 m; account for the actual height and direction of movement when planning detection. Three spacers, wall plugs, screws and a retaining strap are supplied. Connection to the 220–240 V mains must be carried out professionally. The shade is susceptible to scratching: use a damp cloth without detergents for cleaning, and do not install the light near radiant heaters.
