Steinel IR Quattro HD COM1 AP Presence Sensor

Steinel IR Quattro HD COM1 AP is a white surface-mounted presence detector from the Presence Control PRO range. It mounts on the ceiling; the housing measures 12 × 12 cm and is 6.5 cm high. The COM1 version switches lighting on and off and operates from a 230 V / 50–60 Hz supply.

Precise ceiling detection

The detector uses passive infrared technology and has a 360° detection angle. Its presence zone measures 8 × 8 m, or 64 m², while tangential reach is 20 × 20 m. Steinel specifies 4,800 switching zones and mechanical scaling of the presence zone. These figures matter when planning a detection layout for a larger indoor area.

Mounting and placement

IR Quattro HD COM1 AP is intended for indoor surface wiring and ceiling installation. Mounting height can be from 2.5 to 10 m, with 2.8 m specified as optimal. The unit is rated IP20, so that rating should be considered when selecting the installation location. Its housing is plastic and this version is white, RAL 9010.

For functional workspaces

The manufacturer lists medium and large offices, conference and meeting rooms, classrooms, lecture theatres, sports halls and warehouses among the intended applications. It is therefore a ceiling-mounted option for presence detection in work or circulation zones. The package contains one unit. The 2,000 VA figure applies to the switching output for low-voltage halogen lamps; Steinel specifies separate limits for other loads.
