STEINEL L 940: a precise up-and-down wall light

The STEINEL L 940 is a compact anthracite outdoor wall light designed for surface mounting. Its two GU10 lamps direct light upward and downward at the same time, producing a defined pattern on the façade. The restrained cylindrical shape suits contemporary houses, dark window frames and clean-lined terrace areas without becoming visually dominant.

Light output and supplied lamps

• Two replaceable GU10 LED lamps are included.
• The fitting has a total power consumption of 14.5 W and delivers 1240 lm in total.
• A 3000 K colour temperature creates warm-white illumination.
• The 38° beam concentrates the effect above and below the fitting rather than broadly washing the surrounding area.

Construction and size

The housing is aluminium with a textured plastic cover. At 16 cm high, 7 cm wide and 11.5 cm deep, it keeps a modest scale on a narrow wall section or entrance reveal. It is made for a 220–240 V supply and protection class I, so connection to the fixed installation should be completed by a qualified installer.

A considered exterior choice

IP44 protection supports use on the outside of a home. Install the L 940 beside an entrance, along a terrace wall, by a garage door or at a sheltered passage where architectural light is wanted after dark. This exact version has no motion sensor and no Bluetooth; it is a conventional wall light controlled through the installation. Mounting accessories are supplied, while the user-replaceable GU10 lamps make future servicing straightforward.
