STEINEL Multisensor Air BT IPD 084264 is a white concealed multisensor for indoor ceiling installation. It combines air-quality readings with information about temperature, light and noise, sending the results through Bluetooth Mesh. It suits building systems that need environmental information from an office, classroom or hotel room.
Seven readings from one device
The sensor measures CO2, volatile organic compounds VOC, temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, brightness and noise level. These readings help you follow changes while a room is occupied and provide information to a compatible system. Brightness measurement covers 2–2000 lx. The Air version does not detect motion or presence, so a project requiring that function needs an appropriate additional detector. It should be distinguished from the True Presence variant when selecting equipment.
Measurements over Bluetooth Mesh
BT IPD acts as a network input device: it transmits readings, while suitable system components perform the control of connected loads. It has no relay output for switching a lamp directly. Configuration uses a smartphone or tablet with the compatible Connect Bluetooth Mesh application. An integrated visual and audible indication can signal the room climate, making information available without relying only on reading values on a screen. Plan the receiving and controlling devices as part of the overall system.
Plan the concealed installation
The front measures 123×123 mm; the complete device, including the rear module, is 51 mm deep. The housing drawing separately marks 33 mm for the front section, so allow for the full module when planning the recess. The manufacturer gives an optimum installation height of 2.8 m and a maximum of 12 m. The sensor requires 220–240 V AC and consumes less than 1 W. Its white plastic housing has an IP20 rating for dry indoor spaces. Ceiling mounting keeps the walls free, but the necessary space and power supply should be planned beforehand.
