The TEKKNI HEDE set is a recessed LED profile in black aluminium, supplied with the milky L32 cover and four black end caps. It is 2.02 m long, and once installed only a narrow rim with the cover in its centre stays above the ceiling or wall surface.
What is in the set and what you need to buy
The pack holds one HEDE profile, one polycarbonate L32 cover and four plastic HEDE end caps with an oval cable hole. No LED strip or power supply is included — the manufacturer places the power supply outside the profile, so it needs a spot of its own, for example above a suspended ceiling. Extra covers and end caps are sold separately.
Dimensions and plasterboard installation
The profile body is 35 mm wide and 29 mm deep, with a 43 mm rim. The groove milled in the plasterboard therefore has to take a 35 × 29 mm body, and the rim covers its edges. The profile is pressed into the prepared groove or set in mounting adhesive. The channel floor is 33 mm wide — that is the figure to compare with the width of the LED strip you plan to lay in it.
Lengths can be joined into longer runs of light.
Light and use
Light leaves at right angles to the surface the profile is built into. Of the three L32 versions (transparent, frosted and milky), the milky cover diffuses the most, so individual LEDs on the strip show less and the line glows more evenly. The manufacturer designed HEDE for ceiling and wall lighting in offices, shops and homes, as both decorative and main lighting. The set is also made with a silver profile and in a 3 m length.
